Half Life 2: Prison Break
A downloadable game
Roles: Level Design, Level scripting
Date: 2019
Engine: Source (Hammer Editor)
Platform: PC
Context: Academic Project
This is a custom Half-Life 2 level I made using the Valve Hammer Editor. It features the player character attempting to break out of prison. The level brings the player from the upper cell block to the main block yard, and then finally to the lower recreation and administration area.
I did all of the level design for this level including mapping out the initial level on paper and then building and scripting the level.
I learned about a lot of 3D-level design from this project and especially how to use the hammer editor. I had previously had no experience using the hammer editor and making this level gave me the knowledge of the most widely used source level editor.
Instructions to download the level for yourself are below, or you can watch the gameplay video on this page.
