You Save the Internet

Context: Academic Project
You must save the internet. After the president of the united states accidentally pushes the button that turns off the internet, you take it upon yourself to help save the web (and the world) from destruction. You will accomplish this by inputting the correct inputs given to you at the right times to save the internet one byte at a time. You will also be able to purchase upgrades from the shop in order to assist you on this "larger than byte" task.
I made You Save the Internet using HTML/CSS along with the JavaScript library PIXI.js. Below I detail just a little bit of the process of how I went about making the game.
For the game, I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to do originally and I ended up following that very closely in the final product. I did change a few things along the way, most notably is that I added a whole new menu screen to give the arrow mini-game more to do. I worked through the UI design of the game first, then moved on to the more technical aspects like the mini-game and the local storage working as intended.
The main thing I learned in this project was the top-down design process. Going all the way from the conceptual phase to building out the mechanics and systems taught me a lot about the entire process of making games, It was my first really good project, and overall I'm really happy with how it turned out.
